Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ/RQF)

The Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification (EFAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that there is no requirement for a fully trained first aider for their workplace. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2017 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent 2016 changes.
Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
Conducting a scene survey and primary survey
Providing first aid to both responsive and unresponsive casualties, including CPR, recovery position, seizure management and using an AED
Providing first aid to a casualty who is choking
Providing first aid to a casualty with external bleeding (high risk (life threatening bleeding) can be taught upon request)
Recognising and treating shock
Treating a casualty with minor injuries including - small cuts - grazes - bruises - small splinters
Administering first aid to a casualty with minor burns and scalds
Assessment
Continuous assessment by the trainer including question and answer sessions, group work, practical skills evaluation and a short multiple choice theory test
Certification
All Successful candidates will receive a certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work which is valid for 3 years

Paediatric 12 hour First Aid Level 3 (VTQ/RQF)

This comprehensive course, which meets the requirements as set out by Ofsted and EYFS, covers both paediatric illnesses and injuries. It is perfect for those working in child care settings such as nannies, teachers, playground staff and childminders. Course content includes:

Management of burns, bites and stings
Common paediatric illnesses, such as meningitis
